The Ultimate Guide to Staying Hydrated for Energy, Skin, and Weight Loss

Listen, if your skin is dry, dull, you’re tired, or you feel bloated, the real issue might not be your diet, your products, or even your workout plan… it might be as simple as hydration. Yes, HYDRATION.

I know, I know, everyone says “drink more water” but let me break this down. Hydration is not just about water. It’s about how your body absorbs, holds, and uses water to fuel your skin, your energy, your digestion, and even your weight loss.

The Ultimate Guide to Staying Hydrated for Energy, Skin, and Weight Loss In this blog post, we’re going ALL in. You’ll learn:

  • Why hydration is so important
  • How much water you really need daily
  • The benefits of staying hydrated
  • Foods and drinks that hydrate your body (beyond plain water)
  • My favorite hydration schedule
  • Juices and infused water recipes that make hydration FUN
  • And of course… how to grab my FREE Hydration Guide

So grab your water bottle (because you’re going to want to sip while you read this) and let’s dive in!

Why Hydration Matters

Your body is about 60% water. That means more than half of YOU depends on hydration. Every single system in your body — from your skin to your digestion to your metabolism, relies on water to function.

When you’re dehydrated, your body starts sending signals: headaches, fatigue, dizziness, bloating, constipation, dry skin, and low energy. And if you’re on a glow-up journey like me, dehydration will hold you back from hitting those fitness and wellness goals.

Hydration = energy.
Hydration = glow.
Hydration = weight loss.

It really is that simple.

How Much Water Do You Need Daily?

Here’s the deal:

  • Women → about 2.7 liters = 91 oz (11 cups) per day
  • Men → about 3.7 liters = 125 oz (15 cups) per day

But the easiest formula?
Your weight ÷ 2 = ounces of water daily

Example: If you weigh 170 lbs, aim for about 85 oz of water daily.

And yes, that includes juices, herbal teas, coconut water, and even fruits + veggies with high water content.

Benefits of Staying Hydrated

Still not convinced? Here are the top benefits of drinking more water and prioritizing hydration:

  1. Improves skin & glow → water flushes out toxins, helps your skin stay smooth, and reduces dryness.
  2. Boosts digestion & gut health → staying hydrated keeps everything moving (bye constipation ).
  3. Supports weight loss → water helps control appetite, reduces bloating, and boosts metabolism.
  4. Keeps energy high → even mild dehydration makes you tired and sluggish.
  5. Improves mood & focus → hydration literally helps your brain function better.
  6. Reduces cravings → sometimes thirst feels like hunger.

Hydration is the ultimate FREE skincare + wellness hack.

Foods That Hydrate Your Body

Hydration isn’t just about water. You can literally eat your water by choosing high-water fruits and veggies:

  • Watermelon → 92% water
  • Strawberries → 91% water
  • Cantaloupe → 90% water
  • Peaches → 89% water
  • Oranges → 86% water
  • Cucumbers → 96% water
  • Celery → 95% water
  • Lettuce → 95% water

Snack on these throughout the day, and you’ll stay hydrated while fueling your body with vitamins and fiber.

Drinks Beyond Water

Water is essential, but let’s be honest — it can get boring. Luckily, there are other healthy ways to hydrate:

  • Coconut Water  → natural electrolytes (perfect after a workout or when traveling)
  • Fresh Juices → load up on vitamins and hydration at the same time
  • Herbal Teas  → caffeine-free and soothing
  • Smoothies  → hydrating fruits + veggies blended into a meal
  • Soups & Broths  → warm, cozy, and hydrating

Mix it up! That way you never get bored while hitting your hydration goals.

My Daily Hydration Schedule

Here’s how I break down my hydration goals every day:

  • Morning (7–9am): 16–20 oz to wake up digestion
  • Mid-Morning (10–11am): 8–10 oz
  • Afternoon (12–3pm): 16 oz with/after lunch
  • Mid-Afternoon (3–5pm): 8–10 oz or herbal tea
  • Evening (6–8pm): 12–16 oz with dinner
  • Before Bed: 4–8 oz small glass

Pro Tip: Sip all day, don’t chug. Chugging just sends you running to the bathroom; sipping keeps your body steadily hydrated.
