On average, many black women are working 60 hours a week. Why? Because they are working a 9a-5p and working on their side hustles from 6p-10pm.  Working all these hours will leave anyone tired and worn out. But the thing about it is, you don’t have to look tired.  I’m not saying you don’t need your proper rest. However, on those days where you find yourself struggling to get out of the bed, there are a few tricks I’ve learned. These tricks are 3 ways to look less tired.

Put your hair up in a messy bun

If you have long enough hair, put it in a messy bun.  Messy buns are trending now. And that means the fashion world actually created a look that includes your hair not being styled perfectly. Guess what it looks like that on purpose.  Messy buns pair so well with sweaters or long-sleeved shirts. Both of which you can dress up or down depending on your job’s dress code. So the 1st or the 3 ways to look less tired is the messy bun look.

Perfect time for stylish eyewear

Remember all of those cute eyeglasses you have with the stylish frames?  Wear them on those days when you are tired to help you hide the bags under your eyes.  On days when I don’t feel like wearing makeup, I wear my glasses to hide those dark circles underneath my eyes.  Don’t wear sunglasses because everyone will assume that you’re hungover and not simply tired.  You can find a nice and stylish pair of glasses in local stores such as Target, Walgreens, and Walmart or stop by Claire’s the next time you’re in the mall.

Wear bright lipstick

I know this may sound weird or goes against wearing darker shades of lipstick in the fall. But find the brightest lipstick that matches your skin and people won’t be able to tell that you’re tired.  You can apply a bright lipstick and your eyewear to really avoid looking tired.  Again, to pull this off you have to make sure that it’s a shade that pairs well with your skin complexation. If not, you’re just asking for unwanted attention or stares from your co-workers.

Internally, you know you’re tired but it doesn’t have to be the gossip of the office.  I know you’re working hard on your dreams but nothing will make you look tired less than getting the proper rest that you need.  However, on those occasions where you may have to pull an all-nighter or stay up longer, these tips that I’ve given you above will help you avoid looking tired, less. There you have it 3 ways to look less tired.
