WPS Day 2: 90’s House Party

If you thought DAY ONE was great wait till you see DAY TWO!!! Listen, we just finished Day 2 of this year’s Werk Pray Slay 2019 Weekend. And it was absolutely amazing!

Guests had the opportunity to let their hair down before Saturday’s #Beyourownboss conference. And what better way to let your hair down than partying in some super comfy clothes with 90’s music playing in the background.

The ladies of Werk Pray Slay 2019 pulled out all the stops to create a nostalgic 90’s House Party themed party at the W Hotel in Midtown Atlanta. The party took place in the elegant and hip Elevate Lounge. The lounge was decorated with everything “90’s themed” from the Now & Later candy setup to the spray painted “Fresh Prince-esque” backdrop.

The DJ played all of our favorite 90’s songs including plenty of Monica, TLC, Brandy, Lauryn Hill, Xscape, and the list goes on! We all knew the words to every song the DJ played, and we were connected. Nothing brings a group of women together like some good man-bashing, girl-empowering music! It’s true!

While mingling and becoming acquainted with some familiar faces, we were served scrumptious hors d’oeuvres including shrimp cocktails, mini crab cakes, veggie patties, and beef sliders. The hors d’oeuvres were washed down with a tasty, fruity martini drink.

Soon the Werk Pray Slay team were welcomed into the party with huge applause as they were dressed in the cutest 90’s garb inspired by the girl group, TLC. The “crazy, sexy, cool” crew were styled perfectly, and immediately invited guests to participate in a fun game of karaoke! Of course, no one can turn down a sing-a-long! There was a little Mary J. Blige, some Tevin Campbell, and no karaoke is complete with a Destiny’s Child song or two.
