I AM GREATNESS: ATLANTA’S QUEEN OF PR, LILLIE MAE
Meet one of Atlanta top business women and the QUEEN of PR, Lillie-mae!!
1- Can you tell my readers a little bit about yourself ? I am the President of Lillie Mae PR and Creator of GlambitiousIAM.com, a unique empowerment network that provides business resources for women.  I have a sincere passion for working with entrepreneurs of all facets to help them bring their visions into reality.Â
As a speaker and author, I’ve also channeled a lot of business insight into books that are available at 5Kbook.com, including “The PR Code”, “How To Earn $5K in 30 Days” and “Glambitious: How To Live Vicariously Through Yourself.”
2- What’s a normal day like for you? Due to the diverse nature of my work, luckily each day is different! For example, on some days I am “in the field” conducting venue walk-throughs, escorting clients to interviews, conducting business coaching sessions or producing events.  On other days I am behind the computer pitching media, creating resources for entrepreneurs, executing brand strategies for clients or managing social media accounts.
3- What inspired you to start your business/blog? In college I was fortunate to have PR internships with Atlantic Records, Universal-Motown Records and Ogilvy PR.  Once I relocated to Atlanta and was laid off from my first job, I was inspired to start my own PR agency.  GlambitiousIAM.com was inspired by my own professional journey as a young female entrepreneur.  So through that site I create the resources and exposure opportunities I wish I would’ve had when I started my business 8 years ago.
4- What are some of the challenges you face as a woman in business. Balance is a definite challenge for me, because it is easy to be consumed with work when you love what you do.  I have to make deliberate effort to incorporate travel and self-care, so that I don’t burnout!
5- Running a business is not easy how do you stay motivated? Having a spiritual foundation is a huge part of staying motivated.  Also my love of professional independence and the joy I feel from helping other entrepreneurs reach there goals — helps keep me pushing forward.
6-What are three things that no one told you about being an entrepreneur?
– If your business is doing well you likely will not get a tax refund.
– Health insurance is far more expensive when you work for yourself.
– Your business will become your new baby and require an immense amount of your time.
7- What advice would you give to your much younger self? Trust your gut and take more risks.Â
8-What’s Next For you and your business? I am looking forward to expanding both Lillie Mae PR and GlambitiousIAM.com abroad to connect with even more entrepreneurs around the world. I’m also excited about my new iTunes podcast “Money, Travel, Respect” (also available on Google Play).
9- What are some of your favorite inspirational quotes?Â
“If GOD is for me, who can be against me?”
“The biggest adventure you can take, is to live the life of your dreams”
10-Any words of advice for aspiring entrepreneurs?
Stop waiting for a producer and produce yourself. Don’t look for a connect, become the connect. Enjoy the journey and freedom of being an entrepreneur and sharing your passion with the world!
Finish this sentence; I am greatness because GOD is within me.
