About Pinterest
Pinterest was established in 2010 by Ben Silbermann. He is the CEO and co-founder of Pinterest. And this is his definition of the Platform; “Pinterest is the place to plan the most important projects in your life.”
Listen, Pinterest is a GOLDMINE. There are over 433 million users on Pinterest, saving beautiful things, important things, informative things, and things they want and love. The easiest way to explain it, Pinterest is a catalog of personal interests and inspirations boards.
Create An Account
Ok, now you have an idea of what Pinterest is, let’s create your account.
Go to Pinterest for Business and sign up for a business account… If you already have a personal Pinterest Account I highly suggest converting it into a business profile. When you switched Pinterest for business, you get analytics about your profile which help better understanding your audience and what type of Pins to create.
Create Your Creator Bio
I would suggest a Pinterest SEO friendly bio by adding specific keywords in your blog niche to your bio. You can add the keywords to your title and bio description. You can search for keywords, you can use Pinterest to search and grab those keywords in the dropdown menu. You can also look at related pins in your niche to get ideas. See what specific keywords or hashtags your competitors are using.
Create Your Boards
Now that your bio is filled out let’s create your PINTEREST BOARDS!!! Be very specific
I would suggest starting with about 15-20 active boards, but if you can’t CONSISTENTLY pin to ALL of those boards, don’t create that many, maybe start with 5-10. I currently have 50+ boards and I’m Pinning from my blog 20+ times per day using Tailwind scheduling platform.
How to create the actual board? You can your create boards by clicking the red plus sign on your profile and name the board.
Create Your Pins
And now the FUN PART, PINNING!!! It’s time to start creating pins!! Pinning is
I will do another post on creating GREAT pins but here’s a super quick breakdown. Focus on creating great pins that grab attentions think;
- Beautiful bright images
- Has a lot of white space in the graphics
- Use BOLD fonts and bright colors
- Use large size fonts size
- Optimized with keywords
- YOUR HEADLINE IS VERY IMPORTANT. So be specific, clear, catchy, and of course SEO friendly.
I’m always working on creating CREATE pins and I do A/B testing with most of my infographics to see which one lands better. And I use Canva to create my infographics but you are more than welcome to use any other image editing tool.
And that’s it, lol. I hope you find it useful and that you are able to get started on Pinterest and start driving more traffic to your sites and start making more money to invest!!
