HAWAII BIRTHDAY TRIP RECAP

Hey babes, HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!

Sooooo ya’ll know I’ve been back from Hawaii a few weeks now and I’m just now doing a recap that was due like days after I got back, well I was a little in my feelings because I didn’t get the photos I wanted AND I didn’t like my vlog. I have fully excepted vlogging is not for me and I’m just gonna give it up and focus on what I’m actually good at, BLOGGING.

But I do want to share some of the fun I had in HAWAII for my birthday!!! So let’s dive right into it.

Where We Stayed?

We were in West Maui, and listen, Maui is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! Instead of a resort, we rented a BEAUTIFUL Beach Condo on VRBO and omg, the view was to die for!!! Personally, I like vacation homes instead of hotels when I travel so we definitely felt at home.

What We Did?

Literally EVERYTHING, ok, not EVERYTHING but we did some dope things!!

But first, BEACH!! My absolutely favorite thing about Maui was the beaches!! The beautiful blue water definitely stole my heart!! The waves were super aggressive but I guess next time I need to learn how to surf ;)

And the black sand beach was EVERYTHING!! Next time I do Maui I will definitely plan a whole photoshoot at the Black Sand beach!! ALL of my swimsuits are from Aliexpress and they were ALL $10 or less.

The FOOD. The food was to die for, Hawaii is literally Pineapple Express. Everything is made out of Pineapple and coconut!!! Apart of the food truck our favorite place to eat was downtown Maui at a really cute outdoor bar called, Slappy Jacks. We found it on Yelp and LOVEDDDDDD i!!!

We did the Volcano Tour. We woke up at 12 am to be on this tour. Pickup time was at 2am. We all met at a local mall got on the tour bus and head up to the mountains. The view was worth every second of the sleep that we missed out on.

We did the Haleakala Tour. The Haleakala Crater is the world’s largest volcano and the highest peak in Maui. Which is in Haleakala National Park. It’s litreally the closest we’ll ever get to the sun to litrealy watch it rise.

The Road to Hana Tour was definitely the highlight of the entire trip!! Omg, we were literally one with nature. The views were breathtaking!!! We did not book an official tour we use the self-guided tour app, Gypsy and tour it ourselves which gave us more freedom as far as the amount of time we stopped to check out the beautiful attractions!!

If you ever visit Maui, the Road To Hana tour is a MUST!!!!

Of course, we did a Luau because, well, it’s HAWAII!! Even though the food wasn’t all that great the show was AMAZING and that view was EVERYTHINGGGGGGG so it wasn’t a total loss, but next time I will ask around about the BEST luau in town.

BOLD PRINTS AND BRIGHT COLORS are automatically my go to’s when I’m planning for ANY beach trips and Maui was no different!! But as you can see I went for all the dresses and skirts that showed ALL the thigh-meat, lol. But seriously Maui was more of a relaxing trip and I had NO, I mean NOOOOO INTENTIONS on getting dressed up.

So my suitcase was packed with maxi dresses, flats, comfy sets, shorts and tshirts

Overall, my Hawaii Birthday Trip was a dream and my goal is to visit Hawaii every single year and the day I can affordable my first vacation home it will be in Hawaii, Maui to be exact!!! I THINK IT’S SAFE TO SAY, BEST HAWAII BIRTHDAY TRIP TO DATE!!!

The Planning Details

I only travel with Delta and because Hawaii is such a longggg flight I had 2 layovers. One in San Jose and one in LAX. We flew into OGG Airport which was about 45 minutes from our condo in west Maui. We did pick up a car rental at Avis to get around, (which is HIGHLY suggested) and oh, the only Walmart on the island is also by the airport. So get everything you need before heading to your hotel or rental.
