6 Travel Beauty Tips For The Black Girl Traveler
Happy Friday!!! Beautiful ladies. I feel like we haven’t spoken in a while. But don’t worry I am still here to share with y’all all the wonderful travel tips that I know you need. And this time we are talking about the beauty side of traveling. That is why is title this post the 6 travel beauty tips for the black girl.
As a black girl who is infected by the wanderlust bug. I need to make sure that my travel beauty game is on point. It is a necessity because I don’t want my beautiful dark skin to suffer. Also currently, I am getting ready to go to Houston Texas and I just received my itinerary and I am already planning how I am going to take care of my skin. You beauties already know that I must share with y‘all all my tips. Let’s get started.
Travel size products
First thing first, you need the right products. By the right products is I mean travel size of your favorite products. I know that we are all aware that TSA has guidelines for the size of products you can bring through their checkpoint. And so I want to encourage you to invest in travel size products. But if that is not you or the products you use don’t come in travel size then invest in TSA friendly travel bottles.
These bottles are sold at your local Walgreens, CVS, or drug store. All you have to do is pour your products in them. It’s really that simple.
Don’t forget your Ziploc bags
Even before it was a requirement to put your products in a Ziploc bag for TSA. I was already doing it. A Ziploc bag is a good way for me to keep my products together. I have one for my toiletries and one for my makeup and so on. This way if anything spill it won’t spill on my clothes or in my bag.
In addition, using a Ziploc bag helps you to carry the stuff you need to keep sanitary. Like the cotton balls for your toner. Plus, you need them for your make up. So, get you some Ziploc bags.
Don’t Use Hotel Products On Your Face
Here’s a tip that is not just a tip but a rule. Under no circumstance do you use hotel products on your face. This is not good for your skin and not good for your routine. The rule is if you forget products buy a similar product at your local store. But do not use hotel products to wash or moisturize your face.
I am a huge natural product freak and I don’t just use anything on my skin. Because I understand that my skin is precious and so is yours. Don’t use the harsh hotel chemicals that can have repercussions later.
Only Pack The Essentials
One of the best Travel Beauty Tips for the Black girl Traveler that I can give you is to pack the essentials. I know what you are thinking. But what if I need more stuff? The answer is you don’t. You don’t need more stuff. The rule is to pack what you use on a regular basis.
That means ONLY pack your face wash, moisturizer, and possibly one mask. I personally do one mask because sometimes the sun is too bright, and I must show my skin some love and care. Other than that, I only pack what I know I will use and that is the essentials.
Simplify Your Routine
The next tip on our 6 travel beauty tips for the black girl traveler is that you need to remember that your routine matters. It’s okay, I already know your first complaint. “What if I am tired.” Well, it doesn’t really matter. We all get tired, but we have to remember that our skin matters. I mean it’s the first thing people see when they meet you. For example, I work 12 hours some days. By the time I get home, I am not in the mood to follow hygiene. I just want to sleep. BUT I would go through with my hygiene routine and my beauty routine because I know how important it is.
And when my routine gets too complicated, I worked hard at simplifying it. However, if you are a person who has difficulty simplifying things. Then I suggest that you set a simple routine just for when you travel. Of course, use the same products, but you simplify the routine just for travel. This will also help you carry fewer products thus giving you more space in your bag.
All About Makeup
Now for the Crème de la Crème. What we’ve all been waiting for. Makeup. If your one of those excellent black queens who can go without makeup. I humbly bow down to you. But if you are not then here’s Travel Beauty Tips for the Black girl Traveler secret to packing makeup.
Pack only what you small travel make up bag can carry. That means don’t pack a separate bag for your brushes, or a separate bag for anything else. Confined your packing to the small makeup bag that you keep in your purse. I know it’s hard for us makeup junkies, but it has been done and I know you can do it.
