5 Ways To Show Gratitude Daily
I’m a huge fan of the law of attraction philosophy. It has helped me grow as a person by being grateful for my life, the people in it and watching how the things that I want to be manifested in my life, come true. Showing gratitude daily in our lives is essential to our overall health and wellness. Instead of complaining about what you don’t have, focus more on appreciating what you do have. There’s so much in our daily lives to be grateful for but we often let our mishaps be the driving force that controls our days or moods at any moment. This week, I encourage you to do any of the following, % ways to show gratitude daily:
Write In A Journal
Grab one of those journals that you bought but haven’t used yet. Better yet use the one that you’re currently using daily. And list the things and people that you are grateful for. This list can be as long as you want it to be or you can write up to five things daily in your journal. I know a lot of women keep gratitude journals, similar to their prayer journals. Your gratitude journal can also be a small notebook that you can carry with you in your purse so that you can carry it everywhere you go.
Express gratitude to someone
Always, always, always, say “Thank you” as often as you can whenever you can. Being grateful for someone complimenting you or opening doors for you during your morning commute is very thoughtful. That is why it made the list of 5 ways to show gratitude daily. So, in return for every act of kindness that someone shows you, say “Thank you.” This according to the law of attraction (gratitude), will bring more acts of kindness into your life daily. I learned this method from reading books such as, The Secret and Magic which changed my life. Even in those tough times, I find ways to be grateful
Show respect and be present
We are probably all guilty of not being respectful and present at times with our friends, colleagues or family. Because we had our heads buried in our cellphones. Showing someone respect is a perfect way to express in person, how much you appreciate someone. Scientifically, it has been proven that people are much happier when they express gratitude. Actively listen to people and be present in those special moments. Become so enthralled being present that you forget all about your problems or even your cellphone to take pictures.
Give your time or resources
I remember when I would volunteer every month at a homeless shelter just to show gratitude. I was and still, am grateful to not be homeless and grateful that I don’t have to worry about where my next meal was going to come from. If you ever volunteer
Write a note
I know we live in a tech-savvy world but writing a note to someone, expressing how much you appreciate them, will melt anyone’s heart. You can find chic and cute stationery cards and notecards for under $5. You can either deliver the note in person or mail it to the individual. People will delete texts or emails, but they will keep handwritten notes for years. You can leave a “Thank you” note for your mailman, the guys who pick up your trash weekly or the guy at the deli who packages your meat perfectly. Just simple acts of kindness as a written note goes a long way. And one of the 5 ways to show gratitude daily.
“Gratitude can miraculously make you more prosperous so that you get the money that you need to do the things you want to do. It will increase your health and bring a level of happiness beyond what you’ve ever felt before.” – Rhonda Byrne (Author of The Secret)
