5 DIY Product Face Kit

Recently, the beautiful Melissa R. Butler, founder of The Lip Bar, released a beauty collection called The Fast Face.  The goal of the collection is to provide a finished look. The point is to quickly use foundation, face quad highlighters, brows, eyeliner, mascara, and lipstick.  Maybe you’re gearing up to travel this holiday season. And maybe you want to have five products that you can use fast, or use daily for work or school.  Depending on what you value most when applying makeup. Your fast face may be different from my list below or The Lip Bar. You can easily create your own face kit with my 5 must-have products for your DIY face kit. These following products are must-have staples. Feel free to substitute your products where needed.

Lipstick
Fall weather has definitely been making its way across the country within the last few weeks. And that means those fall lippies are a must-have.  Now is the time to break out your mauve, browns or red lippies. The ones that make your sweater dresses and boots pop! That is why it is my first pick of the 5 must-have products for your DIY face kit. Lipstick can make any fashion statement when applied correctly.  If you are going for the darker shades, you may want to invest in lip liners as well.

Mascara
Whether you’re wearing artificial lashes or your own, a fast face can be done quickly by applying mascara.  Finding the right mascara can be challenging at times because there are so many to choose from. My lashes are naturally long so sometimes, I skip using mascara when I’m really pressed for time. The goal of any mascara is to help lengthen your lashes, thicken them and/or define them.

Eye Shadow
I love a classic and simple look so a neutral eye shadow shade works very well for me.  If you’re more into using multiple shades of eye shadow or if you’re the queen of a smokey-eye look, you definitely want to keep an eye shadow palette in your 5 products for your DIY face kit.  This season, I’m really loving the eye shadow palette from Juvia’s Place, The Nomad Eyeshadow Palette ($15 at Ulta). It consists of nine eyeshadows perfect for your fall and winter looks if you’re into a simple and everyday look.

Concealer or Foundation
Ever since I learned how to use only concealer and a bronzer in the summer months, I’m committed to almost getting rid of all of my foundation products.  As you may know, foundations are heavier on the skin and if I don’t have to use it, I won’t. Remember, we are using five products that we can apply fast or quickly and still look amazing!  Applying either of these products will take up the most of your time because you will have to blend the products starting from the inner face and moving outward.

Bronzer
Bronzers are like my BFF, they hide my blemishes from the world.  Seriously, I love using a bronzer palette because it normally includes a blush and highlighter for contouring.  Bronzers typically gives your skin that sun-kissed look or year-round glow even in those cool winter months. One of the best things about bronzers is that you don’t need to apply too much of the product which is always great.  All you need is a few brisk strokes with your brush and the product is applied.

No matter if you are running late for work, school, a meeting or whisking through the airport connecting flights, you can still look amazing with these 5 must-have products for your DIY Face Kit.  Again, feel free to substitute products to fit your pigmentation, products you have available at the time or if you’re just looking to spice up your look every now and then.
