Well, the Hot Girl Summer is officially over. But that doesn’t mean that we can’t enjoy the summer weather. At least I can down here in South Florida. That is why today on this beautiful Thursday I want to share the top 5 best beaches in South Florida. Of course, this is all according to my opinion. Since I am y’all favorite travel advice-giver you know I won’t steer you wrong.

As much as I try to get away from Florida I have to admit it’s an awesome place to live for two reasons. And if you know anything about Florida you already know what I’m talking about. Yes, you guessed it.

The sun and the beaches.

But what many people don’t know is that the majority of tropical Florida weather is in South Florida.

Florida education

The sunshine state of Florida is broken up into three sections. North Florida the actual country part. Central Florida where are the theme parks is located. Then there’s South Florida where people exist. Because North Florida is too country and Central Florida is too theme park oriented.

South Florida is a gem. It’s a weird place because you’re expecting it to be country. But mostly everyone has a strange mix of Carribean meets Latin accent. It’s the place where all the sun and fun happens.

The beaches the nightlife and that famous city of Miami is located there. And its where you want to come to enjoy the sun. Where you want to be for you beach-cation (okay not my favorite work. Why didn’t I just wrote out beach vacation. Just go with it.)

If the sun is your thing and beaches excite you as they do me. If the water calms you and you find that it has magical powers to elevate your mood. If you can’t go one month without seeing the ocean then south Florida is your place.

And to make sure you make the best out of it I am going to share my favorite beaches for you to visit. These are opinions from an actual local. So don’t hesitate to share it. Without further ado, let’s get started with the top 5 best beaches in South Florida.

The Top 5 Best Beaches In South Florida

FT Lauderdale Beach

Fort Lauderdale beach was my playground as a child. It is the place the locals go to and hang out. Whenever you need to be in a place that’s crowded enough but filled with locals the Fort Lauderdale Beach is the place.

The beach doesn’t just offer you sand and water but there are a plethora of restaurants for you to visit. Places for you to sit and enjoy life. And it is the home of the blue martini bar. Did I forget to mention it is close to Los Olas where the people practically stay up all night.

It offers a little something for everyone. From family fun to an awesome nightlife. If your ever in South Florida area and you choose Fort Lauderdale as your destination. Don’t forget to show Fort Lauderdale beach some love.

Hollywood Beach

I have been told that Hollywood beach is the best place for you to go if you have a family. And to be honest I agree. The calm atmosphere makes you want to hang out there. It really is a very low key beach.

The people who visit Hollywood beach are those who are looking for something calm and relaxing. You can take your kids out there and just let them loose. They can play with the other children and build sandcastles. All the while you are sitting back enjoying the sun.

West Palm Beach

West Palm Beach is a city with a history. But I am not going to get into it now. It’s also home to a very beautiful beach.

The clear waters and what sand will have you so relaxed that you might not ever want to go home. Visit any of the beaches as well as the water parks.

If you’re stuck there’s always Rapids water park.  Fun for the whole family. I particularly lived there as a child. Of course, I can’t forget Manatee lagoon. The place too sees God’s gentlest creatures.

Now the things about West Palm Beach is that it’s a city with multiple beach access so don’t forget to pick beach access. I recommend Phipps Ocean Park.

Dania Beach

The Top 5 Best Beaches In South Florida

This beach is my favorite beach ever. It is a gem that many people don’t know how to get to. But a simple Google search should work. This is the place that the locals really crowd. It’s so low key that people living in South Florida for years don’t know how to get there.

It’s definitely the place for those looking for a super low key beach hang out. It has cleared waters, white sands, and a cute boardwalk to stroll on and fish with the locals.

Those days when my life is difficult I go sit on that beach under the boardwalk and watch the water. The people playing, surfing, and other sports. Because only locals are aware of this beach, it’s the best place for those alone times.

Miami Beach

I wasn’t going to write about this. I am not even going to try and lie to you guys. This beach is actually my least favorite. But I would be doing you a disservice to tell you to come to South Florida without giving this option.

Miami Beach or South Beach is always ready to provide the sun and fun that has been missing in your life. I have to admit this beach only made it to the top 5 best beaches in South Florida because it is popular.

It does, however, have some strong parts. If people-watching and crowds are your things then Miami Beach is your place. offering some of the best that Miami has to offer you won’t regret sitting in the beautiful white sand watching the locals, tourist, and everybody else walk by. The drinks and the food might be a bit expensive but the atmosphere makes you want to spend the money. Miami Beach is actually a great place to hang and I suggest you try it at least once.
